Management ‘buy-in’
The first and, arguably, most important phase of the RM process should happen alongside the requirements gathering stage of the project.

Get management sign-off of your RM process.

Let me reiterate this point…do not try to launch this process without the requisite level of stakeholder buy-in. Lack of stakeholder support is the primary reason RM fails….don’t let this happen to you.
